Case Study: Custom Chrysoprase Gemstone Necklace

Let’s get a show of virtual hands. How many of you have a mound of tangled necklaces hidden in the wild and disorganized depths of your underwear drawer? I know I do!

Lately, I’ve been spending a great deal of time designing custom jewellery and ‘rejuvenating’ vintage or dated pieces that customers have discovered in unused handbags, jacket pockets and even the occasional kitchen ‘junk drawer.’ In honor of Fashion Revolution Week, I thought I’d start putting together case studies of this recent work to showcase all of the ways we can work together to design your dream necklace or bring an old pair of earrings back to life!

A few weeks back, a very kind customer of mine came by my pop-up at West Elm and spotted a Chrysoprase necklace she was interested in purchasing. She sent me an email shortly after visiting the pop-up asking if the necklace was still available. I had to break the news that within minutes of her walking out the door of West Elm, another client had come by my stall with his two young sons and picked up the necklace as a Mother’s Day gift for his wife. Fortunately, my customer was in luck! I had a few Chrysoprase stones left in stock that looked very similar in both shape and color to the stone used to create the original necklace. After agreeing on chain style and length, I sent my customer a few images of the remaining Chrysoprase stones and asked her to pick out her favorite bead. After a few hours of deliberation, my customer decided on the Chrysoprase stone furthest to the right (see images below). I immediately got to work designing her custom Chrysoprase necklace and within a few short days of our exchange, I hand-delivered the necklace to her workplace in central London. Interested in designing a bespoke necklace or custom pair of earrings? Or perhaps you’ve been carrying around an old piece of jewellery with the intention of getting it fixed but you just aren’t sure where to take it? Let’s chat and see how we can work together to make your jewellery dreams come true!
